Two strangers leave an envelope containing 4,100 euros to a homeless person in a lottery office in Malaga

Two strangers left an envelope with 4,100 euros and a handwritten sheet to a homeless man who was sleeping next to a lottery administration in Malaga, who the next day distributed more than 600,000 euros by selling a full ticket for the first prize of the National Lottery draw.

Last Friday, around 5 p.m., Agustín Giménez arrived at the administration number 4, called La Tribuna and located in the historic center of the capital of Malaga, and found a foreigner between 60 and 70 years old lying on the ground and in a state of intoxication, as EFE explained this Wednesday.

“A good person” told him that two strangers, a man and a woman, had approached the homeless man and left a closed white envelope next to him, although a corner of it indicated that it contained money. Giménez, who is the husband of the owner of the lottery administration, took the envelope to prevent someone from stealing it and called the local police, who remained its guardian, as announced this Wednesday. A fragment of the Bible

When they opened the envelope, they discovered that it contained 4,100 euros in 20 and 50 euro notes, as well as a postcard with a painting of a virgin and a blank sheet of paper with a fragment of the Bible written in pen, he said. The homeless man, who frequents the neighborhood, was transported by health services in a wheelchair to where he lives, while waiting for the money to be given to him later.

The administration reviewed television camera footage in case the couple who left the envelope could be seen, but nothing is known about them due to the camera’s blind spot.

“In less than 24 hours” of this act of generosity, the lottery administration learned that it had sold an entire ticket for Saturday’s first prize, which amounted to number 37,984. Specifically, it distributed 600,000 euros of this prize, in addition to another amount that Giménez did not specify during the closings after the winning number of the draw.
