Greece is preparing to deliver the S-300 used in the country’s air defense system and two other Russian-made weapons systems to Armenia and replace them with Israeli-made systems.
Oku.Az reports that the Greek portal enikos.gr published information about it.
The leadership of the Greek Armed Forces is reportedly determined to remove Russian weapons systems from the Greek military arsenal and radically replace old systems with new Western technologies.
The portal notes that it was previously assumed that these systems could be delivered to Ukraine, but the General Staff is considering other, less harmful alternatives. The publication adds that, according to available information, the strengthening of Armenia’s defense is not a purely Greek initiative, but a product of cooperation with France, which will also contribute to the armament of this country.
Israeli-made weapons reportedly set to replace Russian systems in Greece include David’s Sling ballistic missiles with a range of up to 300 km, Barak MX with a range of 35 to 150 km, and Spyder with a range of 20 -50 kilometers.
