Today the next program was aired within the framework of the West Azerbaijan Chronicle project.
The interviewer of journalist Rufik Ismayilov was Mehriban Zeynalova, president of the Public Union for Women’s Aid “Tamiz Dunya”.
He spoke of his memories of Western Azerbaijan and his ancestral land, Zangibasar. He said that although he was born and raised in Ganja, he was always eager to see the places where his grandfather was displaced to escape Armenian persecution and the threat of death, and considered them a mystical area. Finally, when he was 12 or 13, his father took him and his family to visit Zangibasar district. Thus he had the opportunity to get to know our historical lands for the first time.
M. Zeynalova, who considers West Azerbaijan her place of worship, also expressed the truths she heard from her parents. He said that during the deportations of his grandparents in the last century, Armenians committed robberies against Azerbaijanis, especially women, and inflicted numerous physical and mental torture on our compatriots due to their ethnic origin. According to him, this policy was carried out secretly during the peacetime of the Soviet government. The Armenians have tried to falsify our history according to its characteristics and claim everything. The interviewee recalled how his father built a two-story house in Ganja. He noted that at that moment the Armenian craftsman made the sign of the cross on the wall. With this he supposedly wanted to create a “base” for the owner of that house to be Armenian in the future. However, the owner of the house noticed and took the cross from the Armenian craftsman.
Referring to the events of 1988, the president of the NGO said that in his house in Ganja they received the relatives of his parents who were deported from Western Azerbaijan and tried to support them in every way possible. He stressed that in those times the true face of the Armenians was revealed and it was fully revealed that they were in a hostile position against our people. Underlining that war, deportations and refugee life have caused great trauma to people, especially women and children, M. Zeynalova added that these people feel this pain until the end of their lives. In many cases, this has a negative impact on the future lives of those people.
The president of the NGO said that despite all these difficulties, every West Azerbaijani misses every stone, water and tree of his historic homeland and looks forward to the day when he returns there. Ms. Zeynalova also noted that at international events she met and spoke with representatives of Armenian civil society. He said that representatives of Armenian NGOs remain aggressive towards Azerbaijanis. According to the interviewer, even ordinary Armenians cannot escape the influence of erroneous propaganda carried out by nationalists and Dashnaks in Armenia for years.
It should be remembered that the Chronicle of Western Azerbaijan project aims to preserve and promote the name of our historical lands, as well as the deportation of Azerbaijanis by Armenians, place names that existed in those territories, but their names have been erased. innumerable examples of underground and surface material culture: ancient settlements, necropolises, tumuli, remains of castles, palaces and fortifications, caravansaries, bridges, funerary chests, stone crosses, battering rams. the discovery of statues, temples, churches, mosques, pyres and hearths, and the transmission to the world community of facts confirming that the area is a pure Oghuz-Turkish settlement.
Also the president Ilham Aliyev Regarding Western Azerbaijan, he said: “The map of the beginning of the 20th century shows once again that Western Azerbaijan is the historical land of Azerbaijan, the names of cities and towns are of Azerbaijani origin and we know very well that Azerbaijanis on the territory of present-day Armenia throughout history people have lived. Now the main task is for the world community to also know it”, – in his opinion, it is about promoting the duties that arise from the Concept. of Return prepared by him. the Community of West Azerbaijan.
