“Wimps on your table” is the name of the new take-away homemade bakery and pastry shop which has enjoyed great success since its opening in Pamplona a few weeks ago.
The whims on your table lie in Irunlarrea street 31, in the Mendebaldea district of the Navarrese capital. Very close to the other establishments that we have known in this local commerce section.
As is the case, for example, from the Nudek women’s fashion store, 15 Irunlarrea street, or the Salt Room Spain care center, 26 Benjamín de Tudela street.
“Wimps on your table” It is a family business formed by residents of Pamplona Pablo Guerrero Labairu, 32 years old and his parents, Maria Jesus Labaru Ruiz and Francisco Guerrero Otero.
“My parents and I have always worked in the hotel industry. We were at La Bodega steakhouse in La Rochapea from 1985 to 2001. Then we were at La Picachilla since 2002, which we left last year in 2023. This opportunity presented itself in a location that suited us. We embarked on the adventure. “It’s an exciting project.”explains Pablo.
He does what he has always loved: “I have always created myself among the pots and had it as an option when the opportunity presented itself. The most spectacular or remarkable dishes are summarized with the motto product and tradition. Recipes with a traditional taste. We offer different proposals and in the first days the ink squid, the ajoarriero with shrimp or the Russian salad stand out.that work.”
The idea is not to have a stand with a lot of products, “but to have around twenty seasonal, fresh and quality products. The recipes don’t need to be too elaborate and what we want is to offer delicious and healthy dishes, with local ingredients. like vegetables, rice, legumes like pocha beans, broccoli stew, which will change,” explains Pablo.
There will be fixed products and others will change. As for customers, he emphasizes: “We are happy with the response of people because we have not done any publicity and people in the area are responding very well. “We want to do things little by little, make people happy, build their loyalty and cook with time, with love and with flavor.”
Ultimately, he wishes to open a new line of services: “As I am a nutritionist, I would like to start a healthy diet with our products two to three days a week to prevent any pathology or for any need people have. We will give them a personalized nutritional assessment,” explains Pablo.
Regarding schedules, he says: “We would like to find a day off to finish but we are not yet clear on this subject. We currently work every day from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. We will see what the customers’ needs are. »
They want to take care of the containers people bring their food in: “We work with a company that provides perfectly microwave-safe cardboard material. Today we have to take care of the health of the environment and it should be that way,” concludes Pablo.
“Wimps on your table” occupies the same premises that he had the Díez butcher shop with the couple formed by Máximo Díez Rincón and his wife María Luisa Villanuevaboth from Marcilla, who have been working for 30 years. They left the butchery this summer.
In an interview with Navarra.com, Máximo said: “The truth is I had a hell of a year last year. I’m sad to leave it, But I’m more tired than before because I have to work like when I was 20, since I don’t have any employees, and the years are taking their toll.
