COP29 President-designate Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev spoke about mitigating the effects of climate change at a high-level event organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Centre (NGBM).
Oku.Az This was reported on the social media account “X” regarding the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
“COP29 President-designate Mukhtar Babayev attended a high-level event with the NGBM to discuss the role of trust and global governance in mitigating the effects of climate change. He stressed that trust and accountability are central to the COP process and their importance in securing global action on climate commitments,” the post said.
It should be recalled that Mukhtar Babayev had previously exchanged views with the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adanom Ghebreyesus, on the impact of climate change on global health systems.
It should be noted that earlier this month, NGBM announced that the next high-level meeting of the Centre will be held within the framework of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
