“Good, with very high and happy morale”. This is the strong message of “tranquility” that the head of the Spanish contingent of the United Nations Mission in Lebanon (UNIFIL), General Guillermo García del Barrio, transmitted to the entire country on the state of the troops through a video released this month. Wednesday by the Ministry of Defense on social networks.
In his communication, García del Barrio, at the head of the more than 650 Spaniards deployed, explained that they carry out their tasks “always giving priority to the safety of each” of the soldiers. “It is my responsibility and, therefore, in these circumstances, it is my greatest concern, because Today, they need us more than ever” he stressed.
“We have prepared ourselves and therefore we know how to do it. We are doing well, with very high and happy morale.“, because joy, together with empathy, are the two typical characteristics of the Spanish soldier and which, in these circumstances, make him the best soldier in the world,” he stressed.

“Reiterate that we are doing well and that safety is the framework within which we will always carry out our tasks and that we will see each other soon, very soonall together again in Spain. But until then, I want to send you a warm greeting from this base of Miguel de Cervantes, a piece of Spain in the south of Lebanon,” he concluded.
