In Russia, parliamentarians have drafted amendments that tighten the rules for foreign workers.
Oku.AzAs reported by Gazeta.ru, the package of bills related to the regulation of labor migration was prepared under the leadership of the leader of the party “Just Russia – for Truth” (SRZP), Sergey Mironov.
The new bill provides for the introduction of strict restrictions. For example, immigrants will be prohibited from bringing close relatives, including family members, and unskilled immigrants will not be granted permanent residence or citizenship.
In addition, the period of stay of foreign workers on the territory of Russia will be limited by the duration of the employment contract. Once the contract has ended, the employer must ensure that the migrant leaves the country. In the event of premature termination of the contract, this obligation remains with the employer.
To finance return, even in cases of deportation, employers must deposit funds in a special deposit or provide a bank guarantee. These funds should cover all expenses related to the employee’s return to their country.
In the draft law, special attention is paid to the issue of conducting examinations for foreign citizens. The attached documents indicate that organizations conducting exams on the Russian language, Russian history and legislative foundations are prohibited from transferring the right to conduct these exams to third parties or private entrepreneurs.
A separate clause of the bill refers to the residency of migrant workers. They will only be allowed to live in specially organized closed labor settlements. Entrepreneurs must bear all costs related to its creation and maintenance.
