Baerbock hinted that Netanyahu should not visit Germany

German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock did not rule out the possibility that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could be arrested in Germany by order of the International Criminal Court (ICC). He explained this by saying that everyone is equal before the law.

This is reported by DW.

At a meeting of G7 foreign ministers in Italy, Boerbock said the federal government strictly enforces the law and stressed that “no one is above the law.” According to her, Germany’s independent judiciary decided, based on sufficient evidence, to consider arresting Netanyahu.

During the meeting, G7 ministers discuss the consequences of the ICC decision and agree on a common position on Netanyahu’s arrest if he leaves Israel.

Italy, as organizer of the summit, is working on a formulation that will have the support of all G7 countries.

Recall that on November 21, the ICC issued arrest warrants against Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant, accused of crimes against humanity and war crimes committed during operations in Gaza. Netanyahu described these accusations as absurd and false, and the ICC decision as anti-Semitic. The United States and other Israeli allies condemned the ICC decision, saying they rejected it on principle.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said Hungary will not arrest the Israeli prime minister in connection with the ICC order.

Recall that Cursor wrote that famous American lawyer Alan Dershowitz said he was putting together a “dream legal team” to defend Israel in court cases and on the international stage.

He wrote about this in an article for the Wall Street Journal.

Kursor also reported that famous Israeli journalist and economist Sever Plocker, in his Ynet article, expressed concern about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s actions.

According to the journalist, the Prime Minister fears that the ceasefire agreements in the north and south of the country could be perceived as a capitulation. According to sources close to him, he believes that Knesset elections will be held two or three months after such agreements. This causes serious concerns for his political image.
