In St. Petersburg, investigators detained the police chief of the Central District, suspected of abuse of power. This was reported by the press service of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee for the city.
“A criminal case has been initiated against the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Central District of St. Petersburg for a crime provided for in part 1 of Art. 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of official powers, two episodes). <> On November 26, the accused was detained and transferred to the main investigation department for future investigation proceedings with his participation. “A search was carried out at his place of residence.” – the message said.
According to the investigation, the detainee, while in his office, ordered his subordinate to pay for the installation of sound insulation in the latter’s car. The suspect later forced the same employee to pay for a boat trip on the Neva. The subordinate was forced to agree to carry out these instructions due to his official dependence on the manager.
