An explosion occurred in a building in the center of Sapporo, northern Japan. This is reported by TASS in reference to the Japanese television channel NHK.
According to the information, the fire that followed the explosion engulfed one of the buildings in the central neighborhood of the city. According to emergency services, four people were injured, one of whom was hospitalized in serious and unconscious condition.
About twenty fire crews are at the scene trying to extinguish the fire.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident. It is not yet known what could have caused the explosion.
