On the official Ducati, Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia. In Aprilia, the MotoGP champion Jorge Martin. And on the official KTM, Pedro Acosta. These are the four drivers that Marc himself sees fighting for the title next year, in 2025. He has ruled out a head-to-head with Pecco.
This is what he said on Tuesday during an ‘Estrella Galicia’ event: “I read that it was going to be devastating and all that… but we are in MotoGP, with the best riders. My partner won 11 races out of 20, which is outrageous. We live in the present, which is changing, the pilots are coming up…”.
“It won’t just be a World Cup between Pecco and me. Not just Ducati races. There’s a Jorge Martín, an Acosta… we will see. We will try to give one hundred percent. I am aware that it will be very difficult,” says the former Gresini driver, where he has won three victories this year: San Marino, Aragon and Australia.
He faces 2025 in which he will advance step by step. The first objective is regain sensations in pre-season. “My challenge is to have a complete pre-season, where I can prepare well physically, do good tests,” the eight-time motorcycle world champion said on Tuesday.
“Logically, I would like to fight for the title, that’s why I am in the best team and with the teammate who fought for the title.. Now it will be in my hands. This is the human factor of the athlete. It’s MotoGP, the best championship on two wheels. We will work in the best way to try,” says Marc.
The goal is to show that it is fast. It was this year with the satellite and he hopes to make the definitive leap with the Ducati: “To approach 2025, the only plan is to be fast on the track. If you are good at it, you will handle situations well…if you are not, you can think a lot, but you cannot achieve the goal. At the end of 2023, I have already defined the strategy. “Everything that happened is a consequence.”
