Italy is trying to reach a compromise among its G7 allies and suspend the execution of an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu until the Middle East conflict ends.
Oku.Az reports that the Italian “Il Messaggero” published information about it.
It is observed in the information that the positions of the G7 countries on this issue are different.
“Although the United States has announced that it does not recognize, for example, the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court, Britain has said it will be guided by its commitments to the ICC,” the source writes.
The newspaper recalls that Italy supports the decisions of the ICC, but believes that the decision must be legally justified and must not have political connotations. For this reason, Italy is trying to suspend the application of the order until the conflict with Palestine ends.
