On the eve of Putin’s visit, the situation in Kazakhstan is critical: political scientist

The United States is preparing a coup in Kazakhstan to start a civil war. At the same time, the country’s leadership is lost, says the head of the Eurasian Analytical Club, international political scientist Nikita Mendkovich. The expert comments for Pravda.Ru about the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kazakhstan.

— What topics are ready to be discussed between the leaders of the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan?

— I think these are mainly economic issues, mainly the development of gas exports to Kazakhstan, gas transit to China and the construction of a nuclear power plant. These are the main topics on the agenda. In addition, Kazakhstan will most likely ask Russia to send more investments to the republic, because the country is in a difficult economic situation, experiencing a budget deficit, and the attraction of Western investments is not justified. Western colonialists are actually robbing the country and not developing the economy.

— Will the issue of the construction of a nuclear power plant be resolved in favor of Rosatom?

— Currently in Kazakhstan the majority of the population is in favor of the creation of a nuclear power plant by Rosatom. But Astana expressed some wishes, far from reality, for the creation of some kind of consortium with the participation of Western European countries. The idea is absolutely absurd and technically unfeasible. Therefore, we now hope that the project will be postponed or that Kazakhstan will adjust its position and begin preparing to sign a single contract with Rosatom.

— Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev ordered the government and local forces to take urgent measures to ensure the security of key military and civilian facilities in connection with the escalating situation around Ukraine. What is the cause of this concern?

— First of all, the phrase “the situation in the country is under the personal control of the president” sounds absurd. Otherwise, what did he do before if he did not control the situation in the country? This is an example of the absurdity of the current Kazakh bureaucratic language. As for the very content of these fears, it seems to me that the elite of Kazakhstan is rapidly losing touch with the real situation in the outside world and, because of this, begins to react to some external news according to the principle “something is happening” . – let’s react in some way.” It is not clear how.

In my opinion, this is a rather frivolous reaction to events, which so far have nothing to do with Kazakhstan. If Kazakhstan really wants to ensure its own security, it is more logical for it to ensure the fight against nationalism and xenophobia within the country, liquidate groups that collect aid for Ukrainian aggressors, ban nationalist organizations that carry out so-called “language patrols.” ” and advocate discrimination against the Russian-speaking population. And finally, it is high time for Kazakhstan to recognize Russian as the country’s second state language and put all these rumors to rest.

— What are the United States’ plans for Kazakhstan? New Ukraine?

— Of course, the United States is striving to turn any of the Central Asian countries into the new Ukraine. They have long talked openly about plans to organize a new coup d’état in Kazakhstan, to do there what failed in 2022: start a civil war. Let me remind you that the American intelligence services were also behind the events of 2022. And now, apparently, they want to repeat these events in Kazakhstan or Kyrgyzstan. Quite obvious preparations are underway both through Western NGOs and propaganda.

This is again the source of instability that Kazakhstan needs to combat, strengthen the fight against foreign agents and, finally, take action against those who were the authors of the events of 2022 on the orders of the CIA, who were then neither arrested nor seriously punished. .

Reference EADaily. Mass protests in Kazakhstan began in the first days of 2022: residents of the cities of Zhanaozen and Aktau in the west of the country opposed the doubling of liquefied gas prices. Subsequently, looting began in Almaty, the militants attacked government institutions and took away weapons. According to the Attorney General’s Office, 238 people died as a result of the riots, including 19 security officers. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev In an interview with Egemen Qazaqstan newspaper, he said that many years of unresolved socioeconomic problems and general stagnation, which turned into degradation of the government and society, led to the coup attempt. The Head of State noted that the peacekeeping contingent of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) “played the role of deterrent in this orgy.” He stressed that CSTO peacekeepers did not participate in the anti-terrorist operation and did not fire a single shot.
