Madrid is preparing to experience a unique Christmas with the inauguration of one of the largest ice rinks in Europe, located in the Metropolitan Stadiumhome of Atlético de Madrid. Under the name of “Madrid on ice”this Christmas experience promises to be one of the most fun projects for the whole family. With an area of ​​almost 5,000 square metersthe rink has the capacity to accommodate up to 2,000 people, and will have space in the center of the field for 1,500 skaters at the same time. The place will have more than 3,000 skates available to visitors.

The ice rink, which will be open from December 21 to January 5will not only offer the opportunity to skate, but will also offer a series of activities for the little ones, such as bouncy castles, a Santa Claus train and the houses of the Three Kings, where they can leave their letters. In addition, there will be Christmas shows, creative workshops and makeup. To complete the experience, participants will be able to enjoy the traditional Christmas marketswith stalls offering delicacies such as chocolate churros, roasted chestnuts and cotton candy. The Riyad Air Metropolitano stadium will be transformed this Christmas into one of the most spectacular destinations in Madrid, with the arrival of “Madrid On Ice”, one of the largest ice rinks in Europe. With an area of ​​nearly 5,000 m² of ice and a capacity to accommodate up to 1,500 skaters at the same time, this experience promises to be a unique event. From December 21 to January 5, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of activities for all agesstarting with the skating sessions.

THE morning sessionswhich will start at 10:00 a.m., present themselves as the ideal option for those looking for a quieter experience. During these hours there will be no shows, allowing you to enjoy skating in a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for families with young children or for those who want to practice without distractions. Instead, starting at 4:00 p.m., the track will come to life with special shows full of lights and music, culminating with a mesmerizing show at the end of each session.

But “Madrid On Ice” isn’t just about skating. In addition to the track, the stadium will host an extensive program of Christmas activitieswhich includes creative workshops for children and adults, light shows on ice and typical Christmas stands where you can taste delicacies such as chocolate churros, roasted chestnuts and cotton candy.

Among the attractions for the little ones, the C stands outSanta’s cabinwhich will be open from December 21 to 24. There, children will be able to leave their letters and meet the endearing Christmas character. Later, from December 25 to January 5, the Three Wise Men will be in the cabin to receive the children’s wishes and with a special mailbox so they can leave their letters. To complete the experience, the little ones will also be able to enjoy bouncy castles and a charming Santa Claus train.

The space will have two closed and air-conditioned dining areas, where visitors can relax and taste a variety of typical seasonal dishes, such as pancakes, Christmas treats and fast food. This year, “Madrid On Ice” offers a complete family Christmas experience, with skating, activities, shows and delicious festive flavors, all in one location.

Timetables and prices for “Madrid on Ice”

“Madrid On Ice” is a unique Christmas experience that will take place at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano stadium in Madrid, from December 21, 2024 to January 5, 2025. Located on Avenida de Luis Aragonés, s/n (28022), the venue will be one of the most notable destinations during the Christmas period. To get there, you can use the metro, with the Stade Métropolitain Station (Line 7)or various bus lines, such as 28, 38, 48, 140, 153, 167, E2, SE721, N5 and N6.

General admission has a price of 20€while gloves can be rented for €2 and walker rental (for 40 minutes) costs €3. To access the ice rink, you must arrive half an hour in advance to collect your skates.

THE schedules are divided into four shifts: morning (from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.), noon (from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.), afternoon (from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) and night (from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.). In addition, special times will be planned for the festivities: on Christmas Eve (December 24), it will only be open for morning and midday shifts; at Christmas (December 25), it will open for midday, afternoon and night shifts; and on New Year’s Eve (December 31), morning and noon. On January 1, New Year’s Day, the ice rink will be open for lunch, afternoon and evening.
