Russia has closed entry to the country to British ministers and journalists – EADaily, November 26, 2024 – Politics news, Russian news

Several British politicians, soldiers and journalists who have shown themselves in the “anti-Russian camp” are denied entry to Russia. This is stated in a statement on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“In response to the hostile actions of the British side, the decision was made to include in the exclusion list several representatives of the political establishment, the military bloc, high-tech companies, as well as the British journalistic body who have demonstrated their worth in the anti-Russian camp”, – indicated in the department.

In particular, Russia has closed entry to the country to:

  • minister of the interior of the kingdom Iveta Cooper;
  • Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice Shabana Mahmoud;
  • head of the Ministry of Finance Raquel Jayna Reeves;
  • Minister of Energy Security and Carbon Neutrality Edward Samuel Miliband;
  • head of the Ministry of Health Wesley Paul William Streeting;
  • education minister Bridget Maeve Phillipson;
  • Minister for Work and Pensions Elizabeth Luisa Kendall;
  • Minister of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Stephen Mark Ward Reid;
  • Secretary of State for Northern Ireland Hilary James Wedgwood Benn;
  • Secretary of State for Wales Joanna Miriel Stevens.

The new sanctions also affected several deputy ministers and advisers, leaders and parliamentarians in the House of Lords and the House of Commons.

As the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized, Britain continues to introduce illegitimate unilateral restrictions against Russia and also pursues a thoughtless policy of supporting the kyiv regime, while pursuing selfish geopolitical interests and prolonging the conflict in Ukraine.

“Russophobic policy, which combines attempts to discredit Russia’s actions and its isolation in the international arena, the spread of misinformation about our country, including in the context of a special operation, together with military support for the Armed Forces of “Ukraine on the brink of Britain’s direct involvement in the conflict, indicate London’s mood for further systemic confrontation,” – noted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Moscow again points out the futility of such a course and calls on Britain to establish mutually respectful interaction for the sake of global security, the department summarized.

Russia also banned two British journalists from entering the “anti-Russian camp.” This tom ball of the Times and Dan Woodland from the Daily Mail.

“Work will continue to expand the Russian exclusion list in response to hostile actions by UK authorities.” – concluded the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
