Mazón removes the salary cap for senior government officials by hiding it in a DANA aid decree

The President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, camouflaged himself in an aid decree DANA a measure to remove the salary cap for senior civil servants in his government. As laSexta was able to confirm, the rule was approved in the first plenary session after the dismissal of the Valencian executive. As part of the aid program, a law on the mobility of civil servants was included allowing “the people who make up the Consell and the higher bodies of the departments” to earn more than the president.

This change would modify the regulations still in force which make it possible to maintain the salaries of senior civil servants. If it is not 15% higher than that of the President of the Generalitat, or 80,173.92 euros per year. In the decree approved this Tuesday, what is indicated is the following: “This limit will not apply to the people who make up the Consell and at the level of the higher bodies of the ministries.”
