Only leaders will attend tomorrow’s meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council (CSC); It is planned to discuss “current problems of international and regional security.” This was announced by the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Yuri Ushakov.
“At this meeting, in which only the leaders will participate, a topic on the current problems of international and regional security and the main results of the CSTO activities in the intersessional period will be discussed,” – said Ushakov.
At the same time, Armenia will not participate in the CSC meeting, whose representatives announced in advance that they “have nothing against the adoption of the relevant documents agreed upon at the summit.”
After the CSC session in Astana, it is planned to sign 14 documents, including the final declaration of the CSTO Member States, which will document the common approaches of the Member States on key issues of the international and regional agenda. According to Ushakov, it involves strengthening allied relations, increasing the combat capability of the Collective Forces, improving crisis response mechanisms, implementing practical measures to strengthen the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, as well as measures related to current activities of the CSTO.
