A professor at Baku State University died

Fazil Vahidov, associate professor of the Department of Political Science and Sociology at Baku State University (BSU), candidate of Philosophical Sciences, has died.

Oku.Az reports that information in this regard has been shared on social networks.

He was reported to have died at the age of 73.

It should be noted that F. Vahidov was born in the village of Nuran of the Agsu district in March 1941. In 1958 he graduated from the secondary school of the Agsu settlement. In 1958-1963 he studied at the Faculty of Philology of the Baku State University.

In 1972 he defended his candidate thesis on the “world view of Omer Faig Nemanzade”. In 1970-2024 he worked as a professor, director and associate professor at BSU. In 1992-2006 he was dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology at BSU.

During his tenure at BSU, he received numerous honors and awards. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2019 Ilham Aliyev He was awarded the third class “labor” order according to the order he signed.
