The criminal trial of Elmeddin Ismayilov, accused of trying to kill his wife, took place in the Sabail district of Baku.
Telegraf.com reports that Firangiz Rasulova testified as a witness before the Baku Serious Crimes Court, presided over by Judge Sabuhi Huseynov.
He said that the accused Elmeddin is his sister-in-law’s wife: “Elmeddin stabbed Khatyn in the neck and throat. He came from behind, Khatyn was putting the child to bed. I didn’t let him go, but he hit him. After hitting him, he dragged him to the room, grabbed her by the hair and stabbed her with a knife. The incident happened in the house where she was staying. They had arguments before, the last argument was that day. the girl Call the police”.
Elmeddin Ismayilov freely testified: “I stabbed my husband 3 times, the expert wrote 9 times. I was not present at the time of the incident, it was my fault. My husband captured my conversation with a girl on WhatsApp on my phone. He was in the work, he looked at the correspondence and threw it at me. I said, nothing like that. But the argument between us didn’t end. We had an argument, he took the knife. I hit him in the side. who lived in the house next door, was there at the time. I went to the emergency room and told him that he had committed such a crime.
Khatin Ismayilova, known as a victim of the criminal case, testified and said that she forgave her husband: “Such an incident happens in every person’s life. I forwarded Elmaddin’s WhatsApp to my number. I saw that he was texting with another girl On the day of the incident, my brother’s friend was taking my children for a walk in the yard and I saw that the house was messy and I saw that Elmadin was sitting on the stairs. He was rocking the child and when I turned around I saw Elmadin. Elmadin standing over my head. After hitting me, the expert gave his opinion on the knife wounds. I have no complaint, I am afraid that he is the father of my children. He will come out and hurt me again.”
Later in the process a decision was made on the conclusion of the judicial investigation. Prosecutor Orkhan Kangarli gave an indictment speech. Elmeddin Ismayilov was found to have previously been convicted under Article 152.2 (having sexual relations with a minor, sexual acts) by the Ujar District Court. According to the prosecutor, the voluntary surrender of his minor son into his care was shown to be an extenuating circumstance for the accused. The prosecutor suggested that he be sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Subsequently, the defendant’s lawyer gave a defense speech and asked that Elmeddin Ismayilov be punished with a lighter sentence. Elmeddin Ismayilov gave the last word and called for a fair decision.
The court announced the verdict upon returning from deliberations. According to the ruling, Elmeddin Ismayilov was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
It should be noted that the incident occurred on June 9 of this year in zone 20 of the Sabail district of Baku. The girl Ismayilova Khatin Ehtiram, born in 2001, was beaten and stabbed by her husband.
He was admitted to the Clinical Medical Center in serious condition. According to doctors, the woman received 9 stab wounds.
Elmaddin Ismayilov was charged under article 29.120.2.4 (attempt to commit murder with special cruelty) of the Criminal Code.
