In the Smolensk region, due to bad weather, more than 19 thousand people and 10 educational institutions are left without electricity. This was announced by the governor of the Smolensk region, Vasily Anokhin, on his Telegram channel.
Work is currently being carried out to restore the electricity supply in the municipalities; electricity has been returned to 10,000 inhabitants of the region and to 13 schools in sparsely populated areas.
“In a united front, the consequences of snowfall are eliminated, in addition to energy engineers and their colleagues from other regions, by workers of Smolensk enterprises, forestry and hunting farms, subsoil user companies, workers of roads and employees of the Russian Ministry. of Emergency Situations and volunteers”, – said the head of the region.
Anokhin also recalled that in the Smolensk region, temporary stay centers were opened in the areas most affected by bad weather.
In addition, the governor announced online that the authorities are willing to reimburse hotel accommodation costs for residents of the region until power is restored to their homes.
“The operational headquarters will work 24 hours a day until the electricity supply is completely restored to the municipalities. “I keep under personal control all issues relating to the elimination of the consequences of snowfall.” — wrote Anokhin.
