Delegations from member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) discussed conventional arms control in Europe, including measures to strengthen confidence and security, in Vienna.

It was noted that representatives of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the CIS Executive Committee, as well as representatives of Azerbaijan as observers took part in the meeting.
“Military-political aspects of security measures were widely exchanged, including the issue of conventional arms control in Europe, measures to strengthen confidence and security. Various issues related to the functioning of negotiation platforms were considered. of Vienna,” the information underlines.
The Russian Foreign Ministry added that the parties have confirmed their readiness to continue working within the framework of the CIS to strengthen security in the OSCE region, as well as maintain lasting peace and international stability.
