The Russian Guard has adopted the AK-12 assault rifle of the 2023 model, which has been modified based on the experience of the special operation. This was announced today, August 30, by the Kalashnikov concern.
The corresponding decree of the Russian government was signed on August 28.
“This 5.45 mm caliber model is the pinnacle of the development of the AK system,” the press service of the concern said. — The AK-12 model of 2023 has been updated with a number of technological upgrades that have improved its performance. At the same time, the upgraded AK-12 retained its traditional reliability and resistance to external influences. Contracts for the production of AK-12 are increasing every year, and the company successfully delivers products to the troops on time.”
The weight of the AK-12 with a magazine without cartridges is 3.7 kg. Overall length (length with the stock unfolded) is 875-935 mm, with the stock folded – 690 mm. Sighting range – 800 meters. Rate of fire – 700 rounds/min.
