Espanyol referee attacked

It was an unfortunate event that occurred at the end of the match between RCD Espanyol and Villarreal. As referee Quintero González headed towards the locker room tunnel to leave the field, he was hit by an object thrown from the stands, in an attack which, fortunately, ended without consequences for the referee.

The driver of the train was leaving, accompanied by his two linesmen and a security guard, when an object, which could be a bottle or a plastic cup, hit him directly and fell downwards. A supporter threw this object from the stands in an attempt to injure the referee.
