These are the places where they will be celebrated until October

August was a month in which joy and celebration were the main protagonists thanks to the start of local fairs; However, in September it is possible to continue celebrating thanks to the numerous popular festivals that will be held in the city until October 13 and which began on June 1st.

The delegate of Festivities and Traditions, Julián Urbano, reported this Friday on the upcoming festivities that will take place in the capital. First, Urbano indicated that this year there have already been 5 of the 21 celebrations planned this yearfigures that exceed 9 celebrations compared to last year. “The increase is seven additional requests from brotherhoods, one more from a club federated to the Federation of Clubs and one more from a neighborhood association,” noted the delegate.

In order to expand these festivals and make them more accessible to the people of Córdoba, priority has been given, as a novelty, that “the festivals are not all concentrated in the historic center, but rather the real protagonists the neighborhoods. All these new requested festivals practically all take place in the neighborhoods of Cordoba and not in the historic center. With which, we also give a very wide coverage to this need that the citizen movement has always had.

Location of festivals

To meet the objective of reaching every corner of the capital, some of the festivals that will take place in the coming days are as follows:

Brotherhood of Our Lady of Rocío: Miraflores Gardens

The Brotherhood of O: Jasmine Square

Peña Friends of Viñuela: Viñuela Avenue

Brotherhood of the Star: gardens of Our Lady of the Star

Brotherhood of the Resurrected: Miguel Amate Escudero Street

Brotherhood of Blood: Cardenal Square Toledo

In addition, as a novelty this year, there will be festivals in two neighborhoods, more precisely in Holy Cross with the work of the Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno and María Santísima de los Dolores de Santa Cruz, and in Alcolea with the Brotherhood and the Brotherhood of the Nazarene Dulce Nombre de Jesús, Santísimo Cristo de las Cinco Llagas and María Santísima de los Dolores de Alcolea. It is also worth noting the return, after 75 years oldfrom the traditional Saint Bernard festival.

Urbano wanted to emphasize that the City Council appreciates “the incredible work of the delegation and all the groups involved, so that the festival program can be carried out”, in addition to the commitment of the nine incorporations “to try to make more beautiful and more pleasant these nights in Cordoba“.
