China and Brazil are willing to contribute to the peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis and, to this end, together with other countries in the global South, they will create the “Friends of Peace” platform. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Wang Yi, during a meeting with the special representative of the President of Brazil, Celso Amorim, in New York, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.
“China, Brazil and their like-minded Global South countries will create a “Friends of the World” platform to [разрешению] Ukrainian crisis”, – said.
Wang Yi emphasized that the group will be open and its purpose is not competition and confrontation, but inclusive dialogue.
He expressed his hope that the creation of this platform will be positively perceived by the international community.
“Friends of Peace is a platform for an objective and rational voice, it should play a constructive role in the political solution of the Ukrainian crisis,” – said Wang Yi.
