The first preparatory hearing of the criminal case against Bakhtiyar Valiyev, accused of the murder of his wife, was held in the capital.

The prosecutor proposed transferring the criminal case to the judicial investigation without changing the preventive detention measure imposed against Bakhtiyar Valiyev, on the basis that the charges against him would be proven during the investigation. After a brief consultation, the case was submitted to judicial investigation and the first hearing was scheduled for December 11.
It may be noted that the prosecution received information about the death of Khumar Hasanli, born in 1999, in Sabunchu district on August 17 this year.
According to information provided by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office, investigations have established well-founded suspicions that Bakhtiyar Valiyev, born in 1997, died in the hospital where he was being treated as a result of injuring his wife Khumar Hasanli with a sharp tool. . at his private residence in the region. The incident was reportedly caused by family jealousy.
Bakhtiyar Valiyev was presented by the Sabunchu District Prosecutor’s Office as a defendant under Article 120.1 (intentional homicide) of the Criminal Code in connection with the incident, based on the request of the investigator and the presentation of the prosecutor who led the procedural management of the case. Preventive detention was chosen.
