Special purpose: We act on the principle of “now or never.”

September 27 is both a day of remembrance and pride in our history. September 27, 2020 is the start date of the liberation of our lands from occupation.

Oku.Az On Memorial Day, the hero of the Patriotic War, the special forces sergeant Jamil Farzaliyevhe was an interlocutor with. Here is the interview:

– Four years have passed since the historical war. What did you notice during this time?

– Over time, I fully understand the essence of victory. It is an indescribable feeling. I no longer work in the military, but those proud and painful days never leave my mind.

– What feelings did you have when the battle began?

– When the battle just started, at first it seemed like training to a person. As we moved forward, we realized that we were at war. It was a proud feeling to be part of that history.

– In which areas did you fight?

– We fought for a week in the direction of Kalbajar-Murov. We were then directed in the direction of Hadrut. We traveled 25-30 kilometers on foot. Avoiding the “rain” of mortars, we advance towards the objective. Upon arriving at the apartment we spent the night. In the morning they ordered us to free the post. The enemy was waiting for our attack from the other side. But we maneuvered and attacked from behind. We shake off the enemy. As their losses were heavy, they began to run. We strengthened ourselves at the post and planted the flag of Azerbaijan. Then came security. After Hadrut, we advanced further and liberated important heights from occupation. All the children of Azerbaijan fought there with all their hearts, I was an eyewitness of it.

– Did you have losses in that battle?

– Yes, we had martyrs from different divisions. We had two martyrs from our unit. God bless you! They were both combative. Due to the impact of this event, it was not easy for us to come to our senses there, but we had to continue on our way.

– What principle did you struggle with with psychology?

– The only objective was not to liberate our lands from occupation. We also wanted to avenge our brothers who were martyred in the First and Second Karabakh War. We were sleepless and hungry for days, but we never lost faith. Because we are men, soldiers of the Azerbaijan army. We act on the principle of “now or never.” We fight to save our children and loved ones from future wars. We were grateful to have the chance to be martyrs in the battles for our holy lands, not outside of them.

-How did the enemy react to you?

– As soon as there were two or three losses, they abandoned the post and fled. They were very afraid of us and of hand-to-hand combat. During the battle, the tanks moved from left to right and we fired behind them. The enemy bullets passed by us. Anything could happen at any time. We had brother martyrs, but because we performed our combat tasks well, we continued with minimal losses.

– At what moments during the war did your family come to mind?

– We didn’t think much about our family. We tried to be calm so that this matter did not cause a psychological problem in our work. Being a martyr was for us to reach a very high peak.

-When I heard the news of the victory for the first time…

– When the Commander in Chief gave this good news, our joy knew no limits. Many thanks to our senior team. Ilham AliyevWith the leadership of
