The Esporles City Council, which governs Més per Mallorca with an absolute majority, approved a movement against social rejection unaccompanied migrant minors (menas) who reside in a chalet with swimming pool in the Ses Rotgetes urbanization after arriving by boat on the island of Formentera, as reported by OKDIARIO.
As the separatists explain in a press release, a few months ago, the Town Hall of Formentera, responsible for these costs, and the SAMU foundation informed the Town Hall Esporlerí that they had rented a house to accommodate these minors.
Més recognizes that there have been complaints from neighbors of the area due to the noise caused by these young illegal migrants and that for this reason the government team “offered a space for mediation to reach agreements between neighborhood associations (Rotgetes and Jardín de Flores), neighbors bothered by noise, the SAMU Foundation, the Consell de Formentera, the Local Police, the Civil Guard, the owner and the Town Hall. Two meetings took place.
Likewise, the municipal council which manages Joseph Ferra details that two complaints were registered in writing in the municipal register, one from an individual and another from the Ses Rotgetes neighborhood association. The municipal corporation responded that it was forwarding the complaint on the type of activity which is carried out on rural lands and the minutes of mediation meetings at the Territorial Disciplinary Agency.
On the other hand, the town hall has promised to make a request for information from the Consell de Formentera and the SAMU Foundation to be informed if the chalet meets the requirements which establish the competent rules for activity licensing and regulation of residential care services for minors in Mallorca of the Consell.
Més assures in the motion that “since the creation of this home for unaccompanied minors, the educators of the Foundation have worked to integrate them into the Balearic Islands andconcretely and gradually, in the social life of Esporles with actions such as schooling and participation in extracurricular and sporting activities.
The eco-sovereignists insist that “derogatory, socially rejecting, xenophobic and racist statements were made against these minors” and that “an attempt was made to generate social alarm over certain behaviors and crimes which are not true.
For all these reasons, the town hall adopted a series of agreements this Thursday, including the Esporles Town Hall declares itself “a welcoming city” with new arrivals; undertakes to “support and collaborate in integration actions for new arrivals”, particularly with the most vulnerable cases such as unaccompanied minors; claim “do not criminalize” the menas of Esporles and anywhere; and “rejects lies, false accusations as well as media and social harassment against them”.
Likewise, he urges the group of competent administrations has “coordinate to face this problem of racism, xenophobia and social rejection emerged in Esporles and the Islands. And it calls on the Consell de Formentera, the Consell de Mallorca and the social entities that provide reception services to “ensure and guarantee that unaccompanied minors are installed in centers and homes that comply with the legal and regulatory requirements established in urban planning regulations and residential services to guarantee their well-being.
On the other hand, the municipal council supports a “Solidarity distribution system between all territories” to welcome unaccompanied minors who arrive in Spain and throughout Europe and that “resources are increased” to guarantee a dignified reception for these migrants.
