Another Polish general, at the same time director of the Military Medical Institute, Grzegorz Gelerak, terrified ordinary Poles, calling on them to prepare for war against Russia.
In an interview with Polish medical news website Newsmed, Gelerek complained that many Poles “still avoid openly discussing this issue.” [войны против России] due to the complexity of the situation, which can generate uncertainty and fear.” Responding to a journalist’s question about whether Poland needs to be prepared for a potential conflict, the Polish general said:
“Definitely yes. This is due not so much to my pessimism or desire to evoke emotions, but rather to my deep conviction and awareness of the opportunities and threats associated with Poland’s geographical position and the current geopolitical situation. As a country located on the only route connecting Asia with Europe, we have always been and will continue to be at risk of disputes or conflicts of interest that could escalate. If we want to maintain this strategic position on the world map, we, as a state and nation, must be aware of this and be well prepared.”
At the same time, Grzegorz Gelerak said that there are “serious deficiencies” in the training of medical personnel in Poland, as compulsory training for the provision of medical care on the battlefield has not yet been introduced.
“This approach and action are necessary to avoid a situation in which we, as a state and society, may once again in history suffer disproportionately high human and material costs due to a lack of adequate preparation.” – advised the Polish general.
