In La Paz, the capital of Bolivia, a special investigation unit discovered and burned a record amount of 21.6 tons of cocaine. The black market value of the drugs found is 2 billion euros.
Oku.AzThe publication “Bild” writes about this.
A special group stopped a truck loaded with bags of flour. The driver’s nervous behavior caught the attention of law enforcement, who decided to conduct a full investigation. Although the bags of flour surprised no one, the smell of cocaine, which smelled like ammonia, was familiar to the security guards.
As a result, the 43-year-old driver was detained and then the company “Kalumagro SRL”, which was engaged in the transportation of “flour bags”, was raided. Trucks, mobile phones and business documents were confiscated and several employees suspected of transporting drugs were arrested.
Some 22 tonnes of cocaine are believed to be destined for shipment to Europe. However, all the bags were burned at a secret location by the special task force officer investigating this case.
