Two Kyiv high schools recycled 1.3 tons of Russian classics books. This is reported by the city council.
Profits from the book donation will be used to purchase heating pads for soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Almost 1.3 tons of Pushkin and Lermontov have been collected together with Lyceums No. 130 and 15. All this was handed over for processing and with the funds received we will purchase heating pads for our soldiers.” – said the city councilman Olesya Pinzenykh.
He added that the event became an important part of the de-Russification process.
As reported EADailya week earlier, one morning in Krivoy Rog, monuments to Russian poets were torn down Alexander Pushkin AND Mikhail Lermontov. Next on the dismantling list is the monument. Leo Tolstoy.
Later, at the site of the Pushkin monument, one of the local residents wrote: “Pushkin is eternal, but you are not.”
