The police union Union of the Federal Police (UFP) takes its anti-corruption and spending control measures to the extreme. Any member of the group, from the general secretary to the last regional or provincial delegate, will be required to justify in detail any expenditure exceeding 100 euros.
After a first external audit to organize the accounts of the union which received three thousand votes of the national police in the last union elections of 2023, starting next December, the Federal Executive Committee of the police group will examine in detail all the internal expenses of the union.
This measure did not surprise trade unionists. The new executive intends to radically reduce all expenditure that could be likely to be wasted or suspected and to dispel the shadows which hang over the former leaders who are currently under investigation for an alleged crime of diversion.
They will punish those who break the rule
The new and strict internal regulations The union leaders came as a surprise within the police collective, if we take into account that, according to union sources, the union leadership warns that non-compliance with the new rules will result in immediate consequences for those responsible.
Candidates whose expenses exceed 100 euros and who have not been explained in detail, specifying the necessity which pushes them to spend this money and the detailed budget, will be rejected by the union leadership. In exchange, the executive would undertake to evaluate any request from two members of management, including the head of Finance, and not to delay the response beyond 15 days.
