An explosion left three dead and seven injured on Wednesday, November 27, at an expanded polystyrene production factory near Ibi, about forty kilometers from Alicante, in southeastern Spain, according to emergency services.
“A boiler exploded in a company, killing three people and seriously injuring three others”said Alberto Martín, emergency director of the Valencian Community, on public television. Among those killed was a employee of the neighboring company, victim of the shock wave, he added.
According to firefighters, the roof of the Climber Industries factory collapsed as well as several interior partitions. The exterior walls were also damaged and numerous plastic boxes were scattered on the ground around the company, adds Agence France-Presse.
Before the deputies, the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, expressed “all the support of the Spanish government” to the victims of the accident, as well as the firefighters and first responders.
