In Kyrgyzstan’s correctional institutions, artificial intelligence has begun to be implemented to monitor the compliance of prisoners and staff.

It is reported that the surveillance cameras installed in detention centers and colonies can detect fires, fights, unauthorized meetings of people, presence in prohibited places, as well as abandonment of positions by the management of the institution.
“In addition, cameras in our prison system institutions can recognize gender, age and clothing,” the ministry said.
It should be noted that in Kyrgyzstan there are more than 15 correctional colonies and detention centers where about 11,000 people are detained.
