Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador on Friday accused the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, of “disrespect” the president-electClaudia Sheinbaum, who, according to him, suggested that it was the Mexican sovereign’s idea not to invite King Felipe VI to the inauguration.
“Now with this issue in Spain, they are also disrespecting me, and this is what the Spanish president is doing to the president-elect,” López Obrador said during his morning conference. The Mexican president stressed that it is “an additional lack of respect” on the part of the Spanish president to consider that Sheinbaum “it’s manipulable” to attribute the decision to López Obrador not to invite the monarch to Sheinbaum’s inauguration on October 1.
