The argument, intended to defend his management of the disaster and, at the same time, to fight against the judicial harassment of his government due to corruption cases, falls under its own weight.
On the one hand, because several of the works tendered by its own executive on the roads concerned were awarded to some of these companies. And above all because the Botanical Government of Ximo Puig awarded dozens of contracts to these same companies to an amount greater than 533 million euros during his eight years at the Generalitat.
The PSPV governed the Valencian Community in coalition with Compromís from 2015 to 2023. And during this period it hired at least, six of the companies involved in the corruption affair that cost him power Mariano Rajoythrough the first victorious motion of censure of democracy. From Gürtel or Ximo Puig

The court’s decision served as a lever to distance the Popular Party from the national government and stigmatize the Valencian PP.
The second company most favored by contracts from the Generalitat de Puig was Becsaof the Symmetry Group, to which it granted 64 contracts for more than 17.6 million euros. Among them, only 14 calls for tenders were closed before the decision of the Gurtel. The remaining fifty, for a value of 132 million They were granted when the National Court had already established, in black and white, its connection with the plot.
The sentence included, in principle, an express mention that the Popular Party had a “parallel financial and accounting structure to the official one which has existed at least since 1989.” That is to say since the last period of Manuel Fraga at the head of the former People’s Alliance.
A third company benefited from the Botanical of the PSOE and Compromís with million dollar contracts was CHM works and infrastructureof the Vallalba Group. In their case, they were 24 calls for tenders that he earned during these eight years, which gave him an income of 89.7 million euros.
It turns out that on June 26, just three weeks after the motion of censurethis company won one of its juiciest contracts, for more than 25 million. In fact, only seven offers for just under six million were submitted before the court’s decision. THE 84 million remaining were granted when Ximo Puig could have been accused of “favoring companies involved in corruption”as is currently the case with Mazón.
The initial wording of the sentence, which helped the PSOE to draw up the motion of censure and gather the votes to bring Pedro Sánchez to the presidency of the government, added that “these points were recorded informallysometimes on simple handwritten sheets”, in what is called Barcenas papers.
The central government too
The rest of the companies that appeared in the case, and which still received contracts from the Socialist and Nationalist Autonomous Administration between 2015 and 2023, are Facsa, Tizor And Padelsa.
Their quantities are significantly lowerexcept in the case of Facsa, which has 150 years of history in the management of sewage and water plants in Castellón, and in many other cities, where it is almost the only one available. Sumo 53 million turnover in 29 contracts.
