On the night of January 4, 2023, Ganbar Ganbarov, 29, a resident of Beylagan, was stabbed in front of a gas station located at the intersection of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue and Big Silk Road. He died on the morning of January 6 in the clinic where he was admitted.
The Narimanov district prosecutor’s office has initiated a criminal case under the article of the Criminal Code on intentional homicide in connection with the incident. According to the expert, Qanbar Qanbarov’s death was caused by shock accompanied by a severe seizure.
The investigation revealed that at 10:15 p.m. on January 4, 27-year-old Sanan Hajiyev, together with his friends, 33-year-old Elvin Sadigov and 31-year-old Magsud Hasanov, were driving a VAZ-2107 car. Ziya Bunyadov Avenue when the Toyota Prius that was passing in front crashed. At that moment, Afrail Ganbarov, who was driving the “Opel Astra” car that was coming behind, passed on the right side of the car to avoid the accident. Annoyed by this, Sanan Hajiyev drove the car quickly to express his opinion and signaled to Afrail Ganbarov to stop his car. Sanan Hajiyev and his friends stopped at the intersection of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue and Beyuk Ipek Yolu Street and argued with Afrail Ganbarov and his brother, who was next to him. Soon, the dispute turned into a hand-to-hand fight. At that moment, Qanbar cursed Sana and hit her in the face with his knee. He became angry, took out the knife he kept in his jacket pocket and stabbed her in the chest.
Sanan Hajiyev was sentenced to 17 years, Elvin Sadigov to 3 years and 6 months and Magsud Hasanov to 1 year and 6 months according to the verdict of the Baku Serious Crimes Court.
