The President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, met this Friday with the Minister of the Presidency, Féliz Bolaños, at the Palau de la Generalitat. The meeting confirmed “the climate of total normality” in relations between the two administrations, as the government emphasized in a press release.
Illa and Bolaños wanted to emphasize the “harmony” and “shared priorities” between them and stressed that this first meeting had served to “strengthen cooperation between the two governments”.
Taking advantage of his visit to Barcelona, Bolaños also met his government counterpart, Albert Dalmau, as well as the Minister of Justice and Democratic Quality, Ramon Espadaler.
The meeting also ended with a positive assessment of the collaboration between the two governments in matters of justice. However, one of the main themes of the meeting was the phenomenon of multiple recidivism and measures to combat it.
Likewise, another common point between the two administrations is the need to “defend and improve democracy in the face of the rise of divisive and extremist discourse”, which is why they are committed to making institutions more “transparent and participatory” .
