What environment did you grow up in?
A rather literary atmosphere on the part of my mother, Anne Dufourmantelle [morte tragiquement en 2017]who was a psychoanalyst and philosopher. In my childhood memories, he wrote. My father, Bruno Dufourmantelle, is a painter. It’s been his life forever, he’s obsessed with work.
We were Parisians, but my parents divorced when I was very young. Then my father went to Le Pecq (Yvelines), he had his workshop there, we met on weekends with my brother Gabriel, who is a year and a half younger than me.
Otherwise, it’s always a little difficult for me to talk about my childhood… It was a complicated childhood, but with some very nice memories, which are the ones I like to remember: the hours I spent watching my father paint, the classic concerts of music that I went to with my mother…
I also like to remember my Spanish family. My mother was raised partly by a Spanish woman, Chelo, who is like my grandmother deep down. My brother and I went with her and her husband, Ángel, twice a week. She was a guard. We went to Spain a lot with them, I have very good memories of these vacations…
At the same time we had a nanny, Rosario, who was Colombian. Since my mother traveled a lot to attend conferences, she was also the one who raised us. With my brother we had a close relationship, we invented many games, imaginary worlds.
