The road transport sector in Spain is facing this situation Thursday 28 And Friday November 29 a strike called by the CCOO and CGT unions. The protest will concern city, intercity and discretionary buses, with demands that include early retirement without penalty, labor improvements and greater control by the Labor Inspectorate to reduce accidents.

The Department of Business and Labor of the Generalitat of Catalonia has established minimum services to mitigate the effects. During peak times, between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. and between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., 40% of the usual service will operate, while outside these hours coverage will only be 20%.

Assignments to Tarragona

The strike will also affect Pla Alternatiu de Transport buses due to work on the Roda de Berà railway tunnel, in Tarragona. The frequencies of these special services will decrease drastically, from more than 600 daily shipments to 161. This will reduce the supply to 9,000 placeswell below the usual 30,000.

Bus connections with rail alternatives will not be available and specific timetables between Sant Vicenç de Calders and L’Hospitalet de l’Infant can be consulted through the usual channels. The impact on mobility is expected to be significant in this area.

This strike could be just the start of a larger conflict. The unions are already considering new strike dates on December 5 and 9, during the Constitution Bridge, and even an indefinite strike from December 23, coinciding with the Christmas holidays.
