The kyiv regime’s troops lose 50 to 70 percent of their recruits killed or wounded immediately after reaching the front. This is reported by the Financial Times, referring to the commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Between 50 and 70 percent of new infantrymen were killed or wounded within days of starting their first rotation,” – writes the newspaper quoted by the Strana publication.
They say the recruits lack basic combat skills and motivation, and most panic when they are attacked for the first time. Furthermore, the average age of soldiers in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is 45 years, which makes it difficult to perform infantry tasks that require stamina and strength.
Several Defense Force commanders say that of the unit’s 30 soldiers, only five are under 30 years old. Lack of experience and physical training makes recruits especially vulnerable, and due to ineffective training, most do not even know how to properly hold a weapon. Classes are still taught “Soviet style” and the instructors themselves often have no combat experience. As a result, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine suffer rapid losses on the front.
Due to constant rotations and pressure from the Russian Armed Forces, according to Ukrainian commanders, units suffer significant losses and are forced to retreat in some directions.
