In France, women helping homeless people were fired for wearing hijab

Activists have accused the association “Accommodation and Social Integration”, created by the French authorities and which provides assistance to homeless people and refugees in the department of Mert-et-Moselle, of Islamophobia.

Oku.Az The newspaper “Le Journal du Dimanche” wrote about this citing a source.

The reason for their discontent is that the institution intends to fire two employees who continue to wear the hijab.

It should be noted that the association previously updated its internal rules, prohibiting the open use of religious symbols, including the hijab, in the workplace.

Despite this, two employees continued to wear the hijab and, as a result, were informed that they would be fired in early September. On September 26, the Union of Trade Unions called 80 workers to a meeting.
