The advisor to the head of the Ministry of Ecology of Uzbekistan, Rasul Kusherbayev, proposed that Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (MAE), be declared persona non grata in Uzbekistan. The reason for this was his statement about the beating that a teacher gave to a Russian-speaking child in one of the republic’s schools.
Oku.Az reports that Anhor.uz writes about this.
“We have never interfered in the internal affairs of Russia, especially in what happens in Russian schools. This is a completely internal matter of Russia. Therefore, the intervention of the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova, in the internal affairs of Uzbekistan regarding “The incident at the Tashkent school is not a casual statement,” Kusherbayev said.
It should be noted that a video of a teacher in Tashkent beating a student after he asked him to explain the lesson in Russian was previously posted on the Internet. Russia later demanded an official statement from Uzbekistan regarding the incident. Moscow also asked Tashkent to make a legal assessment of what happened and take action.
