North Ossetia was covered in heavy snow: roads were washed away, traffic along the Georgian Military Highway was suspended and emergency closures were recorded in several settlements. The head of the republic, Sergei Menyailo, writes about this today, November 28, on social networks.
According to him, the emergency services of the republic work around the clock: cleaning roads, repairing downed power lines, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations provide assistance to drivers and their passengers waiting to reach Georgia through the checkpoint. The bad weather will continue tomorrow. Menyailo asked “everyone to exercise extreme attention and care, especially on the roads” and, if necessary, contact the Rescue Service by calling “01” from landlines and “112” from mobile phones.
