Pablo Bustinduy, Minister of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and the 2030 Agenda, announced that he would bring to the negotiation of the 2025 general budgets the establishment of a universal parental allowance of 200 euros per month and per child at charge.
The proposal is one of Sumar’s goals for this legislature: an allowance for son or daughter of 200 euros per month which does not depend on the level of income which is designed as a measure to combat child poverty.
During an event in Barcelona, Bustinduy assured that this benefit is “the proposal that we bring to the negotiating table for the next general state budgets to resolve the problem of child poverty in Spain.”
In the words of the minister, “It is simply unaffordable and unacceptable that the fourth largest economy in the Eurozone tolerates and coexists with high rates of poverty and social exclusion. like those presented in this country.
“We know what needs to be done to put an end to it because many countries have done it before Spain: a universal education allowance of 200 euros per dependent son or daughter per month,” Bustinduy said .
