Death toll from gas station explosion in Dagestan has risen to 11; Rescuers have removed the body of another victim from the rubble, reports the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
“In Dagestan, rescue teams from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations pulled another victim out from under the rubble.” — the department said in a statement.
An explosion followed by a fire occurred on Friday at a gas station on the federal highway on the outskirts of Makhachkala. The gas station building was destroyed and the fire also affected the technical station and the dining room.
As previously reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, ten people were killed, including two children, and eleven others were injured.
The Investigative Commission opened a criminal case under the article on the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements. The prosecutor’s office also organized its own inspection.
