The lack of reliable neural markers has led to a high rate of diagnostic errors in neurological conditionsaffecting both those who receive incorrect diagnoses as well as those who really need treatment. False negatives can in particular lead to serious consequences, such as academic failure and dysfunctions in the social life of patients and their environment.
Recognizing these challenges, Ana and her team are developing an innovative solution that uses electroencephalography (EEG) and brain connectivity patterns, with the aim of providing psychiatrists and neurologists with more precise tools to identify disorders like ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).
