According to information provided by an Israeli official to the British Telegraph newspaper, the Israeli Prime Minister’s visit to the UN General Assembly was part of an elaborate plan. This plan was aimed at lulling Nasrallah’s vigilance and making him believe that the Israeli authorities would not take aggressive action while the head of government was out of the country.
The Israeli source also said that Netanyahu approved the military strike even before his speech at the UN podium, where he emphasized his determination to continue operations against Hezbollah.
