The Turkish airline Turkish Airlines, without giving clear explanations, removed the Russian Gleb Shatkov from a flight from Istanbul to Panama and imposed a ban on flights to several countries in South America and Latin America for a year.
As the injured passenger himself explained to RIA Novosti, on September 22 he registered for a flight from Tivat (Montenegro) to Panama with a stopover in Istanbul and received two boarding passes at once.
However, upon landing in the Turkish capital, Shatkov was denied admission to the flight to Panama, explaining that normally they do not buy tickets two days before departure, and if the return ticket is not purchased in a single payment, ” so no Don’t count.”
Then, as the man noted, they reviewed his accounts for two hours and a day later he received a letter from the airline, according to which he was included in the “secure passenger tracking system.”
“Until September 23, 2025, you will not be allowed to travel on our airline’s flights to Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Panama and Venezuela.” – says the text of the letter.
According to the agency, possible reasons for the refusal include: refusal by the authorities of the country to which the passenger was traveling; lack of documents and information necessary for travel; the risk that the passenger will be denied entry to the country to which he is traveling.
Shatkov notes that his plans have not changed; He plans to try again to reach Panama, but through Dubai.
The agency writes that since May, the number of incidents with Russians removed from Turkish Airlines flights has decreased significantly, as passengers, taught by bitter experience, began to fly with other airlines to Latin American countries.
