The Independent Confederation of Entrepreneurs and Self-Employed Workers of the Province of Badajoz (CIEM) joins the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), as a full member from December 1, a decision that was adopted on December 20. meeting held by the Board of Directors of the CEOE and the Executive Committee of the organization, which took into consideration the representativeness accumulated by the CIEM, with more than 20,000 businessmen and independents among its associates during its first year of activity.

The president of CIEM, José Luis Iniesta, was responsible for making it official during a public appearance held this Thursday, November 28 at the Hotel Río de Badajoz, during which he was supported by a large representation of new employers’ associations, emphasizing that the incorporation of the Confederation into the CEOE “is good news for entrepreneurs and self-employed workers in the province of Badajoz and Extremadura, because it means that the CEOE recognizes and supports the strength of the integration project that CIEM has launched.

This week, the Badajoz employers’ association received the official accreditation document for its membership, just as the first anniversary of the founding of CIEM is being celebrated. In this letter, the secretary general of the CEOE confirms the full incorporation of the CIEM into the organization as of December 1st. Thus, the CIEM will now have three members to the General Assembly of CEOE and one position to the Board of Directors of the Organization. The ICES governing bodies will decide who will occupy these positions.

In his speech, José Luis Iniesta thanked the CEOE for having strongly recognized the work carried out by CIEM during this first year of activity. “Our commitment in this new stage is to exercise the representation of the economic fabric of Extremadura in the only way we understand it: with honesty, accountability and transparency“, he stressed.

An example of this transparency is that the ICES General Assembly has already been convened, to explain the new scenario of the organization and for all partners to know first-hand the measures that have been taken and those that will be taken from now on. . Since the incorporation of the CIEM into the CEOE, “the demands of business leaders and self-employed workers in the region have been placed in the main decision-making bodies of collective negotiations,” he said.

The integration of the CIEM into the structure of the CEOE will ultimately allow giving a voice to the business world within the leading national employers’ associationmade up of more than two million companies and independent workers from all sectors of activity. Thus, the CIEM constitutes itself as “an essential voice and a basic interlocutor” for the development of policies which affect the economic fabric of the region.

For the president of CIEM, the massive support from the CEOE’s governing bodies demonstrates the solidity of the confederation project and “an unequivocal recognition of the strength and representativeness that we have built during this first year of activity”.

A consolidated and unifying project

The CIEM has in its structure territorial organizations with national projection, such as the Association of Independent Workers (ATA), the Association of Metal Contractors (Aspremetal), the National Confederation of Construction (CNC), the Association of Bingo Contractors of Extremadura (Aebex) the Confederation of Tourist Businesses of Extremadura (Cetex), the Association of Young Entrepreneurs (AJE) and the Association of Road Goods Transport Entrepreneurs (Asemtraex), all integrated into the reference employers’ associations in each of their sectors.

With these organizations, CIEM highlights the support obtained from other local or provincial entities, which have found a space for collaboration in this association.

This support, now, from the CEOE, confirms the strength that the employers’ project has accumulated open and unifying launched by the CIEM, “and encourages us to continue working to make the demands and needs of entrepreneurs and self-employed workers heard”
